I haven't posted anything in far too long.

I'm going to try rectifying that.

Love me?

Kat Dennings, apparently, which I'm pretty content with.

My attitude towards moderating this kink meme has always been hands off creatively. I have trust and faith in the authors and artists of this fandom to know what is and isn't ok in terms of content, creativity and material.

Mostly it's an attitude that has worked for me, but lately it's been made apparent that I need to rethink my hands-off approach.

Plagiarism is not ok. I can't believe I really have to say anything more here than 'don't do it', but don't do it. This is a small fandom with an active readerbase, so someone is always going to notice when something is rewritten, reworked or outright reposted as your own. I do not want people abusing the anonymous nature of the kink meme to a) claim credit to work that isn't theirs and b) make the kink meme known as a place where you can get away with that kind of behaviour. It never has been and it never will be, end of story.

The best course of action for plagiarism is if you see it, report it. I can be contacted at falloutkinkmeme@gmail.com, via direct message, or at the mod alert thread.

Hate speech and intolerance will never be welcome here. It isn't welcome in prompts, it isn't welcome in fills, and it isn't welcome in comments. This in particular extends to issues regarding canonically queer characters being 'raped straight'.

Some clarification:

  • Sexual preference/gender preference play is welcome. Gay characters can be written in sexual or romantic situations with members of the opposite sex, straight characters can be written in sexual or romantic situations with the same sex. I want to emphasise that sexual preference/gender preference play is perfectly valid and welcome here.
  • Prompts and fills that mock, demean or seek to 'correct' sexual/gender preference are not welcome. To put it in the bluntest way possible: raping a character straight/gay is not welcome here. Implying that a character is lesser or lacking due to their sexual/gender preference is not welcome here.

At no time do I ever want people to associate the Fallout kink meme with being a place that encourages such an unpalatable, extremely serious and very very real issue of 'corrective' sexual violence. It isn't sexy. It isn't titillating. Don't post it.

I am still deciding the best course of action in regards to two particular stories that have triggered conversation and debate about this second issue, and ask for your patience as I work out what to do. I've been rereading the relevant discussion/s on Tumblr and thank you all for your input in regards to something that's been troubling me for a while.

If you have any feedback, comments or would like clarification about anything, please feel free to leave a comment. You can post anonymously or under your name, whatever you feel comfortable with. I can also be contacted by direct message or at falloutkinkmeme@gmail.com if you would like to talk privately.

Thank you,
Shelter!Mod.
